Here's the youngest visitor to Storyshack at just 4 days old enjoying the must have classic 'PEEPO' with her grandma.
Allan Ahlberg is appearing at the Southwold literary festival 'Ways with words' on Saturday 9th November talking about his 'life in stories' at St. Edmund's Hall in Southwold. I'm really looking forward to hearing him as his books have been a delight to our family for a looong time and I'm sure for yours too.

Here's one of my favourite pictures from 'PEEPO'....what can you see? Below is a link to a really interesting piece about Janet and Allan Ahlberg's daughter who is now an illustrator too.

Amazing concentration at STORYSHACK today as:
a whole story was written, illustrated and bound as a book and, as you can see wonderful journals constructed and beautiful fairy miniature books too.

We found Peepo in time for our four kids to enjoy it, and for us to almost memorize the lovely sing-song words! I recently bought a used copy to share with the 2-year-old I now babysit, unfortunately the Americanized version, "Peek-a-Boo", which doesn't have the verses. Over time, I was able to recall all of the words & pencil them in!

....oh no....that wouldn't quite go with the 40s England it depicts! Well done for remember them all. We are probably better at remembering 'Each Peach Pear Plum' in our family. I once did a whole week on this with some lovely children who weren't so keen on reading but loved this. When I got the next big book out as a theme for the next week and opened the page they all started to chant "Each Peach pear plum..."!
