Wishing all imagineers, young and old a very Happy Christmas and a healthy holiday. I hope 2016 brings you everything you wish for. Meanwhile here's one of my absolute must reads at Christmas. I have this version, it's very old, it's very sweet and the illustrations are enchanting. Then there are some Christmassy Molly Bretts if you still find you're a bit B'ah Humbug -guaranteed to make you smile.

AAAh yove got to read this  book immediately. It's the Christmas MUST HAVE. Really brilliant. Really cheered me up, made me cry and laugh a lot. A lovely story-charming, magical and touching. Not sugary and schmaltzy - it's a really wonderful story about 'A boy called Christmas' written by Matt Haig. I read it last night-have to be honest, into the middle of the night as I couldn't put it down.

.....and if I can't convince you and the quotes above don't do it for you then Stephen Fry's comment surely will:
" The most evergreen, immortal Christmas story to be published for decades."

More soon (about Christmassy books) but I'm so thrilled to have found a copy of this book I wanted to put some pics on to share. I had the blue copy when I was little and have been looking for Dick Bruna's 'The Christmas Book' for a loong time...now I've found it. A new cover but exactly the same unique drawings telling the story of the Nativity. And the new version even has a little Angel to use a book mark-what more could you ask for?
