The second is "My Dad's the Best'' by Nicholas Allan. I first came across Nicholas Allan with 'The Queen's Knickers' which has made many a good present over the years. This one is a rhyming, funny and touching book about Dad and doesn't really need much explanation. It's jolly, quirky and feel good and will make you smile.
Two picture books for Father's Day or any day, for that matter. 'Daddy I can't sleep' by Alan Durant and Judi Abbot is the first one. A sweet little book about a little panda who can't sleep. Yes there are a few books about not being able to sleep but not being able to sleep when you're little is horrible for everyone so I don't think there's anything wrong with having different small creatures who are facing the same issue. In this case Panda Daddy takes the little panda out to see what is really out about in the dark. It reminds me a little of Plop who discovers that dark is kinder than he thought in the end. The pictures are very charming and natural-a sweet read and also some ideas to try in case you have a non sleeper. The second is "My Dad's the Best'' by Nicholas Allan.
